An incubated egg at 2 - 3 weeks

2-3 weeksEvery day this week we are telling you how a duckling develops inside an egg.

Today we are looking at an egg that has been incubated for 2 - 3 weeks.

There is a lot of difference as the duckling is developing quickly. The duckling is the black mass that you can see on the image. The blood veins are alot clearer and thicker and the airspace is getting bigger.

Spring is a great time to visit WWT centres as new life is developing. Next week is Downy Duckling Week at Martin Mere and you can see ducklings develop inside eggs as well as hatching eggs and newborn ducklings.
