Meet Penny, our baby otter

This week we are profiling each of our baby otters so that you can get to know them a bit better.

Today is the turn of Penny.

She’s the smallest and most timid of the 3 cubs.  She has a dark coat like Thai, and has a thinner more chiselled face like Ned.  She tends to hang back a bit, and often plays with her food as much as eats it.  She doesn’t roughhouse with her sisters as much and is happy playing alone or sticking close to either of her parents.  Any loud noise or sudden movement is likely to send her running back to the holt first.  She has a similar pink pattern on her nose to Flick, but it is smaller.

Named after the Olympian Victoria Pendleton after a competition in the local paper to name one of the otters after your favourite olympian.
