Otter Health Check
This week our family of otters went to the vets for their annual health check, which included an x-ray, blood tests and teeth examination, here’s a summary of how they got on...
- Thai is too old for the anaesthetic, but was able to have an x-ray through her cage, all is well and her teeth are in good condition, she weighs 4.05kg.
- Ned had a scale and polish to remove the tartar build up on his teeth, his x-ray was not clear so may have a kidney stone, we will be monitoring this, he weighs 2.85kg.
- Penny had a clear x-ray, there is slight tartar build up on her teeth and she weighs 3.29kg.
- Flick had a clear x-ray, has slight tartar build up and a chip on one of her teeth, she weighs 3.96kg.
- Belle had a clear x-ray, her teeth are good and she has an inflamed tonsil, she weighs 3.68kg.
