Bird News

Lots of highlights today so it's difficult to know where to start!

The Long-billed Dowitcher was on the Mere for most of the day, and still present when the reserve closed. Also on the Mere, a single Knot, and 40+ Avocets, along with the usual Ruff, Black-tailed Godwits and Oystercatchers.

A great raptor day as well, with a male Hen Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine and Barn Owl.

From the Janet Kear hide, 6 Siskins, with a Woodcock nearby.

Other noteworthy birds included at least 3 Mediterranean Gulls and 2 Great White Egrets.

Don't forget to pop in to the In Focus shop for the latest news (and to pass on your sightings to help others make the most of their day!)
