Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Hobby and other raptors

Just a brief update following on from yesterday's comprehensive review.

A six species of raptor day with Hobby from the Ron Barker Hide late afternoon, 2 Marsh Harrier, 4+ Common Buzzard, Peregrine, 2 Sparrowhawk and 2 Kestrel.

Twelve species of butterfly also recorded with Brimstone, Painted Lady, Green-veined White, Wall, Coma, Speckled Wood, Peacock, Common Blue, Red Admiral, Small Tortoiseshell, Holy Blue and Small Copper

It should be possible to see at least 50 species of bird in a day without too much effort, although a telescope is very useful from most of the hides.

If you are visiting the reserve, pop in to the In Focus shop where we have a full list of birds, and should be able to point you in the right direction to get the most out of your visit.
