Thursday 11 and Friday 12 December

Some of our birds will be off display on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 December, while vets carry out some routine health checks. If you would still like to visit us on these days, admission tickets will only be available on arrival and will be reduced to £10 an adult and £5 a child.

Latest Sighting

A damp start and a cool fresh WNW wind throughout the day.

A small group of 6 Dunlin were new in. At least 300 Lapwing, 30+ Snipe, 20+ Ruff, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit, Oystercatcher and Green Sandpiper.

Six Yellow Wagtail again from the Ron Barker Hide.

The Marsh Harrier were active again with a minimum of 4 birds. Also Peregrine, 4 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A couple of small groups of Pink-footed Geese were present (less than 20).

Other sightings included Kingfisher and 2 Little Egret.

Check the last few days for a fuller picture. It should be possible to see over 60 species on and around the reserve. If you want to know what's been seen on the day of your visit please call in at the in focus shop next to the Discovery Hide.
