Latest Sightings
We've had an exciting couple of visitors over the weekend. A male Ring Necked Duck was spotted among the similar looking Tufted Ducks on Saturday out on the mere from Discovery Hide. Originally from North America, look out for its much more grey flank and a grey bill that has a black tip with a white band just before it. A Snow Goose was also spotted the same day from Discovery Hide feeding on the potatoes with a gaggle of Greylag Geese.
In other news from Raines Hide, a Sparrowhawk was seen on the hunt on Friday. 5 Green Sandpiper were also sighted from the gate near Tomlinson heading onto the reserve track.. During WeBs today a Woodcock was seen in the grounds too.
