Today on the reserve here at Martin Mere, 1 Water Pipit was observed on Ashton's field, viewable from United Utilities hide. At Woodend Marsh, also visible from United Utilities hide, 29 Avocets and 1 Snipe were seen today, with 300 Pink-Footed Geese seen flying overhead. Yesterday, 4 Sand Martins flew past United Utilities hide. 

On the mere, 9 Mediterranean Gulls were seen, and with two other different individuals found at Woodend Marsh, the total number on site today was 11. 1 Redshank, 2 Great Black-Backed Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls, 1 Little Egret4 Cormorants, 14 Oystercatchers, 2 Pintail, and 1 Stock Dove were also seen on the mere today.

Between Hale hide and Ron Barker hide, at least 3 Blackcaps were seen and heard singing. At Ron Barker hide itself, 1 Tawny Owl and 1 Barn Owl were seen this morning. 2 Kingfishers were seen perching in front of the hide later on today. Birds seen yesterday on Sunleys pond from Ron Barker hide include 230 Black-Tailed Godwits, 48 Wigeon, 18 Shoveler, 30 Cattle Egrets, 4 Marsh Harriers, and 2 Whooper Swans.

1 Glossy Ibis juvenile has been seen throughout the week across the reserve, mainly seen in fields with Cattle Egret and best viewed from United Utilities hide, Discovery hide, and Ron Barker hide. 

From Mereview hide, 2 Great White Egrets were seen.
