The past week's cold weather has brought the whooper swans back onto the Mere, with around 900 seen at our last dawn counts, their whooping calls heard all throughout the reserve day and night.

Along the community reedbed walk 4 corn buntings were sighted along with 2 woodcock. Plenty of ruff and black-tailed godwits on the mere.
