Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

An adult male Peregrine and an immature bird were both welcome sightings with few reports of late. Other raptors included at least one Marsh Harrier, 3 Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Buzzard. Good numbers of Waders continue to build up with at least 88 Avocet and at least 113 Oystercatcher, 6 Ringed Plover along with good numbers of Ruff, Lapwing and Black tailed Godwit, also at least 1 Snipe.

There are still large numbers of Whooper Swan using the reserve, and many will leave during this month, also at least several hundred Pink footed Geese came into roost early evening.
