Pinks

A top day with skein after skein of Pink-footed Geese arriving throughout the day. Difficult to estimate numbers as birds were moving around the area, but a conservative estimate of 5000 is probably not far off the mark.

A good selection of waders again with Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, Dunlin, Greenshank, Redshank, Little Ringed Plover, Golden Plover, Ruff, Common Snipe and Lapwing all present.

Meadow Pipits and Wagtails moving again, Grey Wagtail on the Mere. Kingfisher again from the Ron Barker Hide.

Raptors included 2+ Marsh Harrier, 4 Common Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
