Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Sightings

Goldeneye continue to be seen most days on the Mere with a group of 5 today (2 male & 3 female). At least 3000 Pink-footed Geese were present on and off all day albeit distantly on the edge of the reserve.

The 3 Little Egrets are still to be seena round the reserve. A flock of 21 Snipe was a good count today and the Oystercatcher flock now numbers 23+, Ruff numbers are still around 60+ and a small number of Black-tailed Godwit can still be seen.

A juvenile male Peregrine has been seen most days with the regular Common Buzzards, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A Stoat was seen along the Reedbed walk on Monday with a freshly caught Vole species.
