Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Keeping with yesterday's winter theme, a roost count of 940 Whooper Swan was larger than expected. A Tundra Bean Goose was seen again late yesterday on Top Mere feeding on waste potatoes with ~ 700 Pink-footed Geese.

Twenty three Shoveler on the Mere included 18 males and 5 females.

Seventy eight Avocet were present today. At least 3 Marsh Harrier hunting on the reserve.

Goldcrest on the Nature Trail.

The moth trap had a few species in it including this Pine Beauty - Panolis flammea
