Little Gull still visiting

The long staying second calendar year Little Gull continues to appear on site, it's been seen intermittently on the estuary, South Lake and Rushy.

Rushy

A drake Garganey, drake Shoveler, Greenshank, 24 Avocet, 5 drake Gadwall, drake Teal, Little-ringed Plover, Crane, drake Chiloe Wigeon hybrid and female Wigeon. The Little Gull came in to rest mid afteroon.

Middle Point

Eleven Curlew, 1 Whimbrel, 37 Dunlin and 65 Ringed Plover on the high mud shelf and 18 Dunlin and 8 Ringed Plover further out (all birds North of the point).

Top New Piece

Drake Green-winged Teal, Crane pair with two chicks, 25 Avocet, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, a few drake Gadwall and pairs of Tufted Duck, Cuckoo singing from South Finger from tallest trees above the path. Three Swift high over the reserve with Swallows and House and Sand Martins.

Tack Piece

One of the Golden Plover was still on the field.

Bottom New Piece

Two drake Garganey on the flood, 4 Redshank flying around over the marsh.

Estuary Tower

A drake Garganey flew past to join a drake Gadwall on the Long Ground Pool, another drake feeding in distant Bottom New Piece flood, Cuckoo singing in the Decoy Wood, Lapwing Oystercatcher and Avocet on the Dumbles/scrape.

South Lake

2cy Little Gull (on the rocks, pictured), 2cy Mediterranean Gull, 73 Black-tailed Godwit, 50 Avocet, m Lapwing, a few Teal, Oystercatchers with chicks (also on the roof), Tufted Ducks, Cormorants and a few drake Gadwall.
