A Merlin blasted through the Tack Piece and Rushy at lunchtime before being seen over the Top New Piece.

Estuary Tower
A flock of around 750 Golden Plover were giving good flyby views and murmurations with the Lapwing over the Tack Piece today. Thousands of duck are here too, along with a large flock of Canada Geese to be checked for the Todd's Canada Goose that is with them. The three Greenland White-fronted Geese were also on the Tack Piece with two Russian White-fronted Geese. Out on the estuary were 174 Shelduck, 45 Pintail, 19 Curlew and a Little Egret. Also of note this morning from the hide were eight Common Crane, two Peregrine, the Ross’s Goose with the Barnacle Goose flock.

Zeiss Hide
A Bittern was seen to fly towards the Kingfisher Hide but was still viewable from the Zeiss Hide. Three Little Stint were amongst the Dunlin flock. Other counts this morning included 417 Dunlin, seven Ruff, 46 Black-tailed Godwit, five Gloden Plover along with Little Grebe, Great Egret, 466 Teal, 25 Pintail and a Water Rail.

South Lake
Four Ruff were on the wader scrape along with 570 Lapwing, 12 Dunlin, 25 Black-tailed Godwit and a single Curlew. Also of note were 12 Common Gull, 220 Black-headed Gull, 57 Herring Gull, 79 Tufted Duck, 15 Pochard and a Great Crested Grebe.

Rushy Hide
Our 14 Bewick's Swans have remained on the Rushy all day. This morning's feed included 88 Pochard, 96 Shelduck, three Redshank, 190+ Tufted Duck, a drake Mandarin, 46 Pintail, 118 Teal and the Avocet.

Robbie Garnett Hide
The Todd's Canada Goose was at back of the Tack Piece with 597 Canada Geese. Also seen from this hide as well as the Estuary Tower were three Greenland White-fronted Geese, two Russian White-fronted Geese, two Spotted Redshank, 14 Ruff, 23 Redshank, 748 Golden Plover, ten Curlew, ten Black-tailed Godwit and six Dunlin plus thousands of duck.
