Hen Harrier in the sunshine!

Hen Harrier in the sunshine!

That was more like it, with the wind dropping down, sun out and a hint of spring! The adult male Hen Harrier put in an appearance mid morning flying through the reserve. Other raptors included Merlin, 8+ Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A single Bewick's Swan during the 3pm feed in front of the Swan Link Hide. Two neck-collared Pink-footed Geese, probably new in. A pair of Goldeneye on the Mere and Ross's Goose still present.

Waders included 1500+ Lapwing, 100+ Black-tailed Godwit, 80+ Ruff, 30+ Oystercatcher, 2 Avocet, 2 Ringed Plover, Dunlin and Common Snipe.
