More Autumn Goodness

Another day filled with Pink-footed Geese going and coming on the reserve. I say going and coming because ~ 20,000 Pink's are roosting on the reserve so most leave early on to feed locally before returning early afternoon onwards.

Another very mild day which made viewing from the hides very pleasant indeed. As usual good raptor action with 2 Peregrine, 2 Marsh Harrier, 3+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

A Tawny Owl was being mobbed on the Nature Trail near the Kingfisher Hide. Two Raven feeding on dead Pink's at the back of the Mere. Little Egret again.

Waders included Green Sandpiper, 600+ Lapwing, 30+ Ruff and a few Common Snipe.

On thursday a couple of good records passing over the reserve with Lesser Redpoll and Yellowhammer.
