Wood Sandpiper still present

Fine to start with followed by a rain front until mid afternoon.
First Swift of the year. Always good to get a April Swift.
Wood Sandpiper (below) still present on Woodend Marsh. Also on Woodend, 7 Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 60+ Avocet, 5+ Ruff, 2 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher. Two Little Ringed Plover also on the Mere and a Common Sandpiper. Fifteen Whimbrel dropped in mid afternoon.
Up to 3 drake Garganey on Sunley's Marsh, view from the Ron Barker Hide.
Female Marsh Harrier again today.
At least one Med Gull from the Ron Barker Hide this afternoon.
Grasshopper Warbler calling on the Reed Bed. Cuckoo calling at the back of the Canoe Safari.
A few Pied Wagtail and at least one White Wagtail on the reserve today.
House Martin, Swallow and Sand Martin feeding over the Mere.
It's not all birds(!) Keep an eye out on the Nature Trail (between the Gladstone and Janet Kear Hides) for Greater Celandine (below)
Also look out for the lovely Yellow Archangel in the wooded area near the Kingfisher Hide. (below)
