New acts announced for Dragonfly Festival
The final line up for our summer Dragonfly Festival has been announced!

We have a dazzling line up of events this summer! From yoga and sound healing in the wetlands to performances from Hook and Loop and kite making led by the Community Kite Project.
Topping the bill of a spectacular summer of dragonfly-themed activities at the inaugural Dragonfly Festival, attendees will be able to experience special themed weekends this July and August:
Circus Spectacular on 26 and 27 July, discover iridescent dragonfly stilt walkers roaming the wetlands and try your hand at circus skills - from diablo tricks to juggling.
Wellbeing Weekend on 2 and 3 August, experience out of hours yoga sessions surrounded by nature in the new Estuary Shoreline garden, sound meditation, massages and sensory walks.
Arts and Crafts from 8-10 August, led by the Community Kite Project, let your imagination take flight and build a fantastic flyer. All inspired by the amazing colours and aerial skills of dragonflies.
Theatre & Storytelling on 16 & 17 August, they’ll be another chance to grab a selfie with the stunning dragonfly stilt walkers, story time sessions, kid’s poetry slam and craft activities - including making a zine or insect puppet.
Dragonfly Dance Party between 23-24 August, enjoy silent discos and nature-inspired performances from Hook and Loop. Plus why not have a play with parabolic reflectors and listen out to the hidden music of nature, or drop in to a nature music makers session.
Dragonfly Discovery – a celebration of science on 30 & 31 August. Peer through the microscope and discover the secret life of dragonfly nymphs and become a habitat hero by building a giant dragonfly habitat, taking over our Art Hub.
The festival, which is running all summer long until 22 September, offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to get up close to wildlife in nature-bursting wetlands and make new memories with friends and loved ones.
The headline acts join an exciting line up of things to see and do over the next few months. These include canoe safaris along the 1km trail, 4x4 wild safaris across the wider reserve out to the banks of the Severn estuary, pond dipping sessions and of course outdoor water play our popular Welly Boot Land.
No less than 25 species of dragonfly thrive in our wetlands, with dragonflies giving ‘main character’ energy throughout the warmer months when they can be spotted across the reserve.
Offering many opportunities to learn more about them, the summer celebration gives a unique chance to explore the dragonfly’s magical wetland world and begin a lifetime connection with these dazzling creatures.
Entry to the Dragonfly Festival is included with the price of admission and free to WWT members.
