Breeding season has continued strong, with a few Avocet chicks visible on Woodend Marsh along with at least 30 adults. Across the islands on the Mere, plenty of Black-headed gull nests, as well as some chicks can be seen - the chicks are well camouflaged

Today on the reserve here at Martin Mere, 1 Water Pipit was observed on Ashton's field, viewable from United Utilities hide. At Woodend Marsh, also visible from United Utilities hide, 29 Avocets and 1 Snipe were seen today, with 300 Pink-Footed Geese
