Latest Sightings

Chilly in the shade/hides today. Early rain didn't appear to drop a huge number birds in although the 10 Dunlin recorded might be new. Four Little Ringed Plover from the Ron Barker Hide with one Ringed Plover, Curlew and 12 Ruff. At least 300 Lapwing around the reserve and a few Snipe.

Raptors included 3 Marsh Harrier, 4 Kestrel, 4+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and at least one Peregrine. A Barn Owl was seen again this morning from the Ron Barker Hide.

Notable migrants included Wheatear and Swift. Two juvenile Yellow Wagtail.

It's worth checking out the new Wild Walk situated inside the grounds with some potentially peaceful out of the way birding. A mixed flock of tits and warblers there numbered 70+.
