Goosander
The highlight of the day was a fem/imm Goosander briefly late morning on the Mere before flying off towards Harrier Hide, this is the first record of this species this year. Other sightings included at least 1 Marsh Harrier, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and several Buzzard.
Waders seen today, 40+ Ruff, few Snipe and 1000+ Lapwing. Good numbers of Skylark around the reserve with a flock of 50 being seen, also small numbers of Redwing and Fieldfare in the grounds as well as Great spotted Woodpecker Coal Tit and Treecreeper.
The Stonechat are still on site with 3 birds seen today.
