Recent sightings - 6th August

The following sightings were recorded by Toni Castello and Pete Matchett, Reserve Wardens

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Tufted duck 5, Coot 10, Mallard 177, Wigeon 1, Black-headed gull 10.

Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Mallard 5, Tufted duck 1, Mute swan 2 adults + 5 cygnets.1.

Limestone lake - visible from the viewpoint in the woodland area

Little grebe 1.

Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory

New!! : 1 Light-bellied brent goose!! (First lonely visitor for the winter season, arriving very early this year), Curlew 26, Whimbrel 1, Oystercatcher 142, Seal (a Common one??) 1, Common gull 1, Great cormorant 11, Black-headed gull 176, Little egret 1, Eider 6.

Amazing news!: 1 Ringed plover + 3 chicks, and another individual still in the nest; we're anxious to know what will happen in the next days!
