Recent Sightings - 8th February

The following sightings were recorded by Reserve Warden, Pete Matchett.

Pete Matchett Crannog_RedA Spoonbill has been spotted fairly frequently on the Comber Estuary recently and at the weekend on both Saturday and Sunday it was feeding on our Peninsula Saltmarsh.

Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre

Mallard +200, Tufted duck 18, Coot 4, Black-headed gull 45, Grey heron 1, Cormorant 1, Little Egret 6, Gadwall 13, Shelduck 1.

Wadermarsh - visible from Brent Hide

Redshank 6, Greenshank 2, Black-headed gull 6, Curlew 1.

Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog

Coot 2, Tufted Duck 5, Little Grebe 1.

Saline Lagoon - Visible from the Limekiln Observatory

Little Grebe 3, Little Egret 1.
