Bird News

The Green-winged Teal was again present in front of the Ron Barker hide throughout the day.

Bird of the day however was an Egyptian Goose which appeared on the Mere mid-morning and spent the next couple of hours moving around the reserve before retuning to the Mere where it was still present at dusk. As with all Egyptian Geese outside of their breeding range, this bird must be considered "of unknown origin", but it is unringed, full winged, and a great bird to see at Martin Mere! Also on the Mere was a Kingfisher, a Black-tailed Godwit and at least 30 Ruff.
