An excellent day on site, the European Whitefronted Goose was present in the morning with Pink-footed Geese before flying off. Also the drake Green-winged Teal was again from Ron Barker Hide.
A Great White Egret flew through the site early morning heading towards Southport, also at least 2 Little Egrets were on site all day.
A Short-eared Owl was briefly on fenceposts by the Mere mid afternoon, also the Tawny Owl was showing well near Kingfisher Hide in the usual spot.
A Merlin was seen from UU Hide, also an adult Peregrine was busy hunting around the reserve on and off all day. Other raptors include a Marsh Harrier, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
Water Rail was showing very well from Ron Barker Hide.
A male Stonechat was seen from UU Hide late afternoon. A few Goldcrest have been seen around the site today, also Jay on site today.
A Stoat was seen near the Hatchery.
