Bird News

A pair of Mediterranean Gulls seem to have settled in on the Mere and are on view  (other than when they are sitting behind one of the islands!) pretty much constantly.

2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Dunlin, at least 50 Black-tailed Godwits, 30+ Avocets and several Ruff were also on the Mere today, but the high pressure sitting over us at the moment seems to have slowed down the wader movements, so little change over the past couple of days.

Lots of Chiffchaffs singing in the grounds, along with the resident Wrens, Robins, Dunnocks, Blackbirds, Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Long-tailed tits, Great Tits and Blue Tits.

The Tawny Owl(s) are still roosting in the usual trees, but can be difficult to see in the ivy.
