Today's sightings

A little bit of movement this morning with nine Knot dropping in briefly to the Top New Piece, as viewed from the Zeiss Hide.  Green Sandpipers are up to with eight on the Tack Piece alone.

South Lake Hides

A single Black-tailed Godwit was with 10 Redshank on the wader scrape this morning.  Many of the larger Avocet chicks have moved to the Top New Piece, leaving a collection of adults and smaller flightless chicks on the South Lake.  The flock totaled 47 birds this morning.  Ruby and her two chicks were seen this morning outside the Hogarth Hide.

Rushy Hide

A Green Sandpiper was at the back of the lower pond this morning whilst six Avocet were feeding nearer the hide.  On the upper pond the Avocet pair continue to incubate.  The adult Oystercatcher was feeding two chicks on the causeway where 108 Black-tailed Godwits were roosting.

Zeiss Hide

The Knot appeared to have left as quickly as they came but left at least 10 Redshank,  a single Green Sandpiper, 23 Lapwing and 2 Oystercatcher.  Two Cattle Egret were feeding amongst and sometimes on the English Longhorn cattle.

Robbie Garnett Hide

At least 8 Green Sandpipers were on the scrape with 8 Avocet and 4 Lapwing.
