Centre wins bronze at CTA Awards

WWT Llanelli won a bronze award last night (November 25th) at the prestigious Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards 2015. It was a tough category - the Best Day Out - and we are delighted to receive the award which recognises excellence within the tourism industry.

The ceremony, held at Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli, was a glitzy affair and was presented by the popular S4C weatherman, Chris Jones.

The Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards Ceremony is a biennial event and has been running since 2009. Organised by the Carmarthenshire Tourism Association, the awards aim to put a shining light on the achievements and endeavors of those who contribute to the tourism industry in Carmarthenshire.

Receiving a bronze at the event is something to be very proud of as there were over two hundred and thirty entries and nominations for this year - which is the most ever received.

Centre Manager Nigel Williams said:

"We are over the moon to receive an award at this event. Our goal is to offer people an extraordinary day out at the Wetland Centre by getting close to nature and gaining an understanding of the important conservation work we do here at the same time.  This was a tough category and to be shortlisted as a finalist is a great achievement in itself. We are lucky to have such great staff and volunteers working at the centre offering visitors a friendly welcome, plenty of useful information and a real desire for everyone who comes through the door to have a wonderful time."
