Beeswax Candles & Cosmetics

A hands-on beeswax craft session led by award-winning local beekeeper Martin Davies.

We all know how important and wonderful bees are for pollination. They're fascinating, hardworking creatures with incredible lifecycles and habits. Honeybees produce magnificent golden honey for us to enjoy, but they also give us another key bee product - beeswax. Learn more about what happens in the hive and how their hard work benefits humans in this fun workshop, and make your own beautiful beeswax goodies to take home!

Date: Saturday 15 June

Time: 10.30am start

The workshop will last for approximately 3-4 hours and will include:

  • A brief history and introduction to bees and beeswax
  • Demonstration of how to make a simple natural soap, incorporating beeswax and honey - with a sample to take home
  • Making your own beeswax moulded candle
  • Making your own natural lip balm, using beeswax
  • Making a rolled beeswax candle

All materials will be provided as part of the workshop, the only things you need to bring are an apron and a smile!

Children can attend this workshop, but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
