WWT London Anniversary

To celebrate the anniversary of our opening in May 2000, we are offering you a chance to visit us at the original entry price of £6.50*.

If you have never been before, now is the perfect time to discover the beauty of the London Wetland Centre for yourself.

The London Wetland Centre is entirely human-made, to preserve a space for nature in the face of ever-expanding urban development.

The centre is one of the most important 21st-century conservation projects. By increasing biodiversity in London, the reserve offers hope for the city’s wildlife and provides people with a space to connect with nature and be inspired to protect it.

Key facts about the centre
  • London’s first large-scale, man-made, inner-city wetland reserve
  • Welcoming over 150,000 visitors a year.
  • Created by WWT founder Sir Peter Scott and opened in 2000 by Sir David Attenborough
  • 95% of the site is a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) thanks to the reserve’s diversity of wild spaces and species, including rare migrating populations of birds such as gadwalls, shovelers and bitterns.

* You don't need to book your ticket in advance; just walk in on Monday, 20th May.

All ticket categories will be at the same price of £6.50. Children under four still enter for free.
